The Challenge: Scaling An Identity

As TensorFlow’s community of developers, researchers, and businesses expanded, its brand system needed to scale to support a broader audience. While the brand carried strong recognition, it lacked the clarity and flexibility required to stay consistent across product launches, tutorials, global events, and social content. A new system was introduced to create a unified foundation that feels approachable while remaining true to TensorFlow’s core identity. Visual elements were crafted to flex across formats, enabling teams to create content quickly and at scale without sacrificing quality.

Approach: Complexity Into Clarity

To make TensorFlow’s story more accessible, producers, copywriters, and stakeholders collaborated on an explainer video that became a cornerstone of the updated brand system. More than 100 storyboard frames were developed to map out a human-centered narrative that broke down technical concepts into clear, simple language. Motion design and clean visuals brought the story to life, demystifying how TensorFlow’s open-source machine learning platform powers real-world AI applications. The video also showcased TensorFlow’s ecosystem of tools, helping developers, researchers, and enterprises understand how to build scalable AI solutions.

Execution: Where Data Meets Design

The new brand system came to life through the global TensorFlow Roadshow, which introduced TensorFlow 2.0 to audiences worldwide. From Shenzhen to Paris to Johannesburg, developers, researchers, and educators engaged with the platform through approachable design that built trust while simplifying advanced concepts. Attendance grew steadily across international stops, and hands-on workshops empowered participants to apply TensorFlow tools in real-world projects. Beyond the events, the scalable design system equipped teams with reusable assets, ensuring the brand could continue activating communities with speed, clarity, and consistency at a global scale.
